St. Louis Steak Heaven

The more that I start talking about different foods that I am sampling the more that I am starting to feel like a restaurant critic.  I really didn’t start doing my blog to critic restaurants but when I have a really good dining experience I want to tell the world.  So after saying that lets take a stroll to Kreis’ Steakhouse and Seafood in St. Louis, MO.  My photo doesn’t do the steak justice due to the fact that I started eating before I realized that I had not taken the photo, the steak was larger, much larger. This restaurant was recommended to us by Jill, so a monstrous  shout out goes to you. Continue Reading »

BBQ Please, No I mean Korean BBQ

Growing up in the Midwest when someone mentions BBQ, the first thing that pops into my mind is a large slab of ribs with a tomato based sauce that is both cooked into the meat as well as extra slathered on the top after it has came away from the flames.  Apparently there are a couple of similarities when it comes to Korean BBQ (like cooking on a grill), but not too many more.  If you have never been to a Korean BBQ restaurant I highly recommend it, if just for the pure novelty of it. The Best Kansas City BBQ Ribs

Crown Prime Beef Short Rib PlatterI would not be doing my hometown justice without writing about Kansas City Barbecue.  One of the best BBQ restaurants in the area would have to be Fiorella’s Jack Stack BBQ.  Please make sure and read that previous sentence carefully, I said “One of” as there are quite a few BBQ restaurants here that run miles ahead of any competition elsewhere in the United States.  My photo of the meal really doesn’t do justice to this amazing platter of giddy goodness as I forgot to take the photo until I was almost halfway through dinner. Instead of the two prime beef ribs that are pictured, the platter is actually served with three!

Fiorella’s Jack Stack BBQ has a number of locations around the Kansas City Area but the one that we chose was located at Union Station in the Freight House. Continue Reading »

If you go on traditional vacations frequently, chances are that there will be people who will be living vicariously through you and your pleasure adventures.  These folks range from the curious co-workers to the remote family members that heard through the genealogical tree that you wandered outside of your pre-designated area.  You might not have asked for this burden but there is not much that you can do to prevent them from doing this.  Here are a couple of things that you need to know when you are living vicariously for others.
